Dear Carpet,

I am so very sorry that the same exact spot seems to be be the recipient of "sickness" many, many times.  Unfortunatly, the pathway between our bedroom and the kitchen, bathroom, and childrens room seems to be the spot were we stop and "sickness" comes.

To our bed, you are welcome!  You were saved once again! :)

Anyone have a carpet shampooer?

Outgoing Boy

Today we returned to the Library after not being there for a while.  It was a special performance by a comedian/juggler.  And of course Handsome went right up to him and chatted as well as showed him his "cool moves".  He also got to volunteer to help during the performance and just ate it up being in the lime light.  It just makes me wonder, how did two quiet, reserved parents get such an outgoing kid?  He is really going to make me have to move out of my comfort zone to make sure he gets the interaction and socialization he thrives on.

Budding Writer

Handsome had a talk assignment on Sunday about repentance.  We talked and he helped write his talk, as we reviewed the repentance process.   Then when something happened I had to make sure that he knew he had to apply what he had learned to real life.

So he had to say sorry, and decided to do it with a card.  Now normally when he does writing I am sitting with him, coaching him on how to form the letters, the spacing, spelling, etc.  But this time I was very busy so he had to do it on his own.  This was the final result, not bad at all for figuring out the spelling on his own.  (and you'll notice that he started to write "sorry", then ran out of room so started over again).  For those that need an interpretation it says "I'm sorry. Love (Handsome)"  I am so proud of him.  I love seeing his drawings develop and now his writing. Not to mention applying what he learned to his life.

Happy Moments

Best part of my day so far... I was completely happy/content today as I lay on the floor next to Adorable "chatting" while my older two "fixed" my hair.  I love being surrounded by my little ones, only feeling slightly guilty for not getting to the chores.

Flower Clips

I have been meaning to make these flower hair clips for Gorgeous for a LONG time.  With her birthday coming I felt it was the perfect time to get to it.  But I missed getting them done in time and had to give them to her a few days late as a birthday present.

I love the look of these flowers!  I simply hot glued an alligator clip to the back, and now she has tons of different flowers she can wear to match her outfits (or not match, which she usually chooses :)  And of course I have plans/wishes of making many more.

Adorable's Baby Blessing

The day we blessed Adorable was a busy one, but I insisted that we take the time to get pictures before church.  Glad I did because those are the only ones I got!  It was a wonderful event with family around us to celebrate the event (too bad we didn't get any pictures of all the family!)

Adorable wore the same blessing outfit as Handsome did when he was blessed.  But this time we also used a special blanket.  Kent came home with it from his mother's home.  I hope I am correct in this, but I believe the story is that Grandma Mead (Kent's grandma) made this for baby blessings.  I don't know who has used it before.  I will have to learn more about this for sure.

And Handsome wore his suite without complaint.  I simply said that Adorable was wearing a tux so he had to wear a suit.  No problems, amazing!

Right before Adorable went up to be blessed he started crying.  So I quickly got out the pacifier to calm him down.  Kent suggested he take him, so he would fall asleep with him and wouldn't notice going up.  It worked as Adorable slept through it all, and I was able to hear and enjoy the event.

And I just LOVE this picture.  Kent was getting tired of all the pictures but I INSISTED on them.  This is his "ok, I'll just humor my wife" face.  But I love it. :)  And doesn't Adorable just look so Adorable!

sympathy becomes empathy

I've always felt bad when my husband or Handsome get a cold that turns into asthma.  But now I guess you can say I have true empathy.  Last week I had a cold, I felt that I didn't need to slow down at all, and kept right on going with everything, guess I shouldn't have.   That's how I gained empathy, it went to my lungs and I experienced asthma.  Now three of us in the home have the same asthma medications.  But of course I would take asthma over Handsome having it any day, I know how I feel, it's TONS harder to gauge how he is feeling, especially when the meds make him hyper and he runs constantly until he can't anymore, then he can hardly breath!

Joseph Smith- History 1:17

I'm am just amazed at the memorization power of these little ones!  This was last months primary scripture.  Of course I did it sideways first and after realized my mistake, but trying to get Gorgeous to sit still to do it a second time, well... let's just say that's not going to happen. :)

Today I've Learned...

That my children can have a wonderful fight over pretend cake! Really? that's what I thought, but this morning started with complaints that Gorgeous was not sharing her pretend cake with Handsome, and that Handsome was stealing Gorgeous's pretend cake.  Really kids?! It's pretend!  I guess I should be glad they have such good imaginations.

I've also learned that $20 will not even fill my car up halfway, yet 8 years ago $20 would fill it up completely!
